Gain Valuable Protection in Power Supplies with Fairchild's CrCM PFC Controller
The FAN6961 is a critical conduction mode (CrCM) PFC controller used in ballasts, open frame power supplies and power adapters and flyback power converters.  It offers excellent Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), reduces component count and provides a suite of protection functions.  This CrCM PFC controller also offers over current protection (OCP), over voltage protection (OVP), under voltage lockout (UVLO) and open loop protection (OLP).

Attain Better Signal Isolation with Fairchild's Audio Switch
The FSA2147 is a double-pole, single-throw (DPST) audio switch that includes a power-off feature on the common port when VCC = 0V to guarantee signal isolation.  This switch is ideal for audio applications that may encounter an audible "pop" attributed to the removal or insertion of a head phone plug.

Achieve Higher Efficiency in Less Space in Digital Applications
The FAN2564 is a low VIN LDO that offers the efficiency of a switcher-based solution in the footprint of an LDO for digital loads found in portable, computing and medical applications. The FAN2564 regulator has a dropout of 100mV and operates from supplies as low as 1.8V, allowing the device to post-regulate from existing low voltage supplies in the system. By operating from a low VIN, the voltage drop across the LDO is reduced, resulting in high efficiency linear power conversion.

Minimize Standby Power in Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS) and Adapters with Fairchild's Green Mode PWM Controller
The SG6846A is a green mode PWM controller with a proprietary green-mode function providing off-time modulation to continuously decrease the switching frequency under light-load conditions. This controller is especially designed for SMPS applications with surge-current output, incorporated with a two-level OCP function. It integrates a frequency hopping function that reduces EMI emissions with minimal line filters.

Increase Efficiency in Solar Inverters, Motor Drives and Inducting Heating Applications with Fairchild's Optocouplers
The FOD3120 and FOD3150, 2.5A and 1A output current gate drive optocouplers, achieve the industry’s highest CMR rating and can easily drive 1200V/20A IGBTs and MOSFETs even in the noisiest industrial environment. This noise immunity is instrumental in preventing unwanted switching which can lead to shoot-through current and damage to the IGBT. These devices also offer tight pulse width distortion (100ns), allowing smaller filters to be used. Smaller filters consume less power and lead to improved power efficiency. With a 1414V peak working voltage, these gate drive optocouplers are able to accommodate high voltage IGBTs.

Energy Efficiency

See how we are “greening” our IT, manufacturing and employee practices.  Our accomplishments include:

  • 43 percent reduction in server power consumption from 2004 to 2007
  • 53 million gallons of water conserved from 2000 to 2007
  • 40.8 percent reduction in energy consumption at our Philippines facility from 1998-2007

Together we can make a difference.
