Simplify Design in Secure Digital (SD) Applications With Fairchild's Voltage Translator
The FXL2SD106 is a low voltage, dual supply SD translator that features built-in automatic direction control. This feature allows the device to sense and control the direction the data should flow, eliminating a direction pin and reducing the number of pins from 20 to 16.

Lighting represents 19 percent of electricity consumption worldwide. The conversion from incandescent light bulbs to fluorescent or LED lighting can result in 75 percent energy savings. Fairchild's comprehensive portfolio of ballast control ICs, IGBTs, MOSFETs, HVICs, PFC/PWM controllers, Green FPS switches, transistors, rectifiers, diodes and optocouplers improve efficiency and performance in CFL, LFL and LED lighting.
Green Note: If 50% of the 370 million households in China switched from incandescent bulbs to CFL bulbs that included Fairchild components, enough power would be saved, just from an average of five 60 Watt bulbs, to light over 5.8 million homes!

Fairchild Semiconductor’s FSFR2100 is a highly integrated Green FPS™ power switch is a finalist in the E-Legacy award for Contribution to Sustainability. This power switch offers a dramatic improvement in efficiency in resonant converter designs such as telecom power, high end audio amplifiers, large size laser printers and LCD and PDP TV power supplies. Compared to conventional hard-switch converter topologies, efficiency is improved by 10 percent and for applications such as PDP-TVs, efficiency reaches 97 percent.
Fairchild Semiconductor Receives Assodel's Best Manufacturer Award in the Power Category
Fairchild was awarded the 2008 Assodel Award in the power category for the semiconductor supplier who most remarkably differentiated and performed in the Italian market over the previous year. This award was based on the votes of 650 individual experts including designers, manufacturers, buyers and technical representatives.
