Attain Best-in-Class Noise Immunity with Fairchild's Suite of Snubberless Triac Optocouplers
The FOD42xx series of optocouplers provide best-in-class noise immunity (dv/dt) that is superior to the average dv/dt rating of monolithic triacs. This eliminates the RC snubber network that is required for lower dv/dt-rated monolithic opto triac drivers, reducing bill of materials and design time. High noise immunity makes these optocouplers ideal for solid state relays, AC motor controls and lighting ballasts that operate in noisy industrial environments.

Meet the Performance Needs of Home, Music and Commercial Audio Applications with Fairchild's Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJTs)
These BJTs have an extended beta feature that improves their linearity and reduces Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). These BJTs also offer an extended safe operating area (SOA) for reliable operation plus a high transition frequency (30MHz). This high transition frequency yields excellent transient response that ensures sudden changes in music will be faithfully reproduced without excessive phase shift or lag.

Optimize Performance and Power with Fairchild's Analog Switch
The FSA2457 is a bi-directional, low power, dual double-pole double-throw (DPDT) analog switch. It contains special circuitry that minimizes current consumption even when the control voltage applied to the SEL pin is lower than the supply voltage (VCC). This feature is especially valuable in ultra-portable applications, such as cell phones, which allow direct interface with the general-purpose I/Os of the baseband processor. Other applications include switching and connector sharing in portable cell phones, PDAs, digital cameras, printers, and portable GPS systems.

The FSFR2100 received a silver medal for being one of the best IC solutions for energy conservation. This Green Apps contest showcases the unique and powerful contributions of semiconductor solutions for energy conservation. 600 engineers voted on the potential “green impact” of solutions entered in the contest by semiconductor manufacturers. Readers said that Fairchild’s Green FPS power switch has “potential to save substantial amounts of energy” and shows the in-roads Fairchild is making in enabling green applications.
