Fairchild Video Application Online Seminar
As the set-top box, DVD-RW, and DVD markets continue to evolve, designers are required to enhance signal integrity, reduce power consumption, and decrease cost. Fairchild’s expertise and industry leading portfolio enables designers to meet these stringent requirements. In the below seminars Fairchild’s experts step through the design challenges and possible design solutions.

Routing and Isolating Video and USB signals
Overview
High Definition (HD) video signals and USB signals require design
techniques the maintain high signal integrity. This seminar will
provide an overview video and USB specifications, the results of
poor signal fidelity, and application examples.

Integrated vs. Discrete Video Filtering
Overview
Anti-aliasing and reconstruction filtering are useful functions
in all video applications. Utilizing a discrete video filter design
can be cumbersome, consume valuable board space, and still not provide
the desired results. In this seminar Fairchild experts will analyze
the benefits of an integrated solution and illustrate the filter’s
performance improvements.

Why Filter in Video Applications?
Overview
This seminar will briefly explain the Nyquist theory and why anti-aliasing
and reconstruction filters help provide clean crisp video signals.
It will also provide an example of a video signal before and after
filtering, illustrating the importance of video filtering.

Video Filter & Switch Matrix Demonstration (in DVD)
Overview
The Video Filter and Switch Matrix Demonstration DVD is now available
for download. The DVD is composed of 3 demonstrations by Allen Watkins,
Video Applications Engineer. The first demonstration illustrates
features of the FMS6407, video filter driver. The second demonstration
shows the complete functionality of the FMS6501, 12 x 9 video switch
matrix. The last demonstration illustrates the importance of using
a video filter when designing consumer video products. High frequency
noise can cause adverse effects on the video signal. Using a Fairchild
video filter in the signal path will remove the noise, resorting
the original picture quality. The 3 demonstrations are available
for download in Window Media Player.
